Already went that route.
And actually it's happened b4 with an older printer. But that printer being so
worthless I seldom used it. This one works and has the same problem [2
different machines and OS] but still windows OS 98 to XP pro.
I get stuff into that queue and can't get rid of them if I don't print them.

Take a look here and see if there are any documents in queue
Start>Control Panel>Printer and Faxes>doubleclick your printer
Top left, click Printer>then click Cancel All Documents

If there's 2 or more items in the queue, your solution will remove all but 1.
BTDT. Already tried that, NG's are a last resort for me now.

I'll hold on to this if my changing the permissions didn't help.
That is a vague term, but I think what it means is the printer communicates
with whatever is polling it. Not something you'd want disabled that I can see.

Double check that all print jobs are showing canceled and not paused in
their status details. Once canceled, you should be able (unless there's
something terribly wrong with the printer's driver or software) to delete
them.
