My Sony Ericsson T637. I get a solid 8 hours of talk time and if I don't use
it much can standby for about 2 weeks. Yes, these are consistent numbers.
And guess what? Verizon doesn't carry any models like this of course....

Only two weeks but I like my LG6000. Most I went was three days to
half charge. Didn't use it much.

.....but after 3-4 hours, you'll have to talk really loud because the battery
is running pretty low...

I just picked up an LG VX4400B. I had heard of some complaining about
battery life, but after my 1st full (12 hr) charge I went from full
charge down to 1 bar within about 12 hrs, with less than an hour of
talk time. I'm a little concerned/worried about that. I hope it gets
better than this!

I bought the extenden life battery for this phone.

You'll be talking loudly long before then, because the battery will
probably be too hot to hold the phone up to your ear comfortably.

I assume you had it on during those 12 hours. If so, what is the
signal level like in your area? A low CDMA signal will cause the
phone to use more power.

Josh....just wondering if you got similar battery life on the standard
battery? It just seems awful short, when compared to the "claimed"
battery life. I even tried to lessen some of the contrast settings
and I know I was NOT in Analog mode. I think the "claim" is approx
180 min talk and 110 standby? I am barely a fraction of those
numbers. I did call Verizon and they said that this is not close to
correct. I called the store and they have swapped the battery, and
they said if this continues, then to go back and they will swap the
phone itself.

That was actually my first guess.

If they wind up swapping the phone, make damn sure they swap out the
charger, too. While unlikely, I wouldn't completely rule out the
charger as being at fault.

Yes I did have the phone on. As far as signal strength....obviously I
can't say exactly for the full 12 hrs, but typically it would show on
average about 3 bars.
I did end up calling VZW CS and they agreed that this was well below
what it should be. I also called the store (a local Phones + in CO).
The guy that sold it to me said to just bring it in, as he agreed that
what I had was too premature. He swapped the battery and said to try
the new battery, and said if that doesn't work, then he'd swap the
phone. If it gets to that, then I will remember to also swap
chargers! Thanks for the advise!
After my first charge and about 14 hrs standby and maybe 30 min of
talk, it has only dropped 1 bar....so that alone is a major
improvement over the last one. I'll keep you posted!

But after 180 hours of standby, your talk time is more like 5 minutes?

Josh,
Nokia 3589i does both. Battery life standby time 2-3 days even after
60 minutes of calls. If you want a flip phone, one with camera, or
games, this phone is not.
