Hi,
I recently had a virus that errased my desktop icons :-(
I heard that if I create a new user, this new user will have a new desktop
(fully functional) and I won't re-install WinXp.

There's no Start button at the bottom of the screen and I can't create a new
user the old fashioned way (control panel). BUT I have access to the command
prompt (run), but I need to know if I can enter the program name that will
allow me to create a new user account ?

Thanks !!

net user /?

Will display the options required to create a user account from the command
line.

If your desktop has not initialized correctly - CTRL-ALT-DEL ad open Task
Manger - go to Process ad kill any Explorer.exe processes.
Then do a File... New Task(Run) ... Explorer.exe /systray
This may restart the desktop UI.
