My monitor is making some really scary clicking sounds that also make the image flicker (it goes out then comes back) kinda like when you change resolutions. I tried lowering the refresh rates a lot down from the optimal (i.e. 1024x768x16bpp@85Hz down to 75hz and the problem is still there) The monitor is in a power regulator, that's conected to another plug (not a regulator, nor to the wall, but a six-plug extention, don't know the name in english)
HELP IT'S REALLY FREAKY

Assuming the mains is OK...

Try the monitor on a different PC if you can.

I would guess it is dropping into standby mode momentarily, probably because it is detecting no video signal.

The graphics card could be the culprit, more likely the monitor though.

Or a dodgy connection on the VGA cable between PC and monitor.

Oh yeah, it could be intermittently degaussing I suppose.

Is there a degauss button on the panel? Does it work ok?
