windows xp pro activation problem ..pls help

hi ,
i having 2 copy of windows xp pro and i cant activate my windows xp pro
on the 1st computer and the message saying that "online activation cannot be
completed at this time " what should i do ?
i checked all the internet connection and its fine and i can activate my
2nd copy of windows xp pro on the 2nd computer and which i activate both the
computers at the same time .Pls help

what about if i reformat my hardisk will it help? and in the future if i
formate my harddisk do i need to activate my windows xp pro again and what
are the suggestion to do it ? and thanks for your reply shenan stanley:)

Do you still have a problem? Have you called Microsoft? It is very easy.
Yes, you have to activate each time you format your hard drive.

Activate by phone (choose that option.)

my question are as below pls help
( 1 ) is there any other way to solve this problem without making a phone
call to microsoft for activating the lisence ?
( 2 ) if i making a clean install or reformating the harddisk do i need to
do the activation again ?

( 3 ) changing of harddisk and reinstall windows xp oem version into the
harddisk, is there anyproblem for activation the key through internet or do i
need to make a phone call to microsoft ?

Wait 180 days before installing again. usually - this is not a viable
option. *grin*
(It's an automated call, BTW. 5 Minutes, usually a local number (Toll Free
anyway.))

Yes. Clean install means formatting the hard disk drive.

Depends on the legth of time since the last install.

Since it has not been asked, Are you using the same Product ID for both
instances of XP?

If you format, you'll need to reinstall Windows first....but that's rather
drastic...Choose the telephone activation method.
