Ok, I have a slight problem. I just upgraded my PC from XP Home to XP Professional. Both versions are legit, I'm not using any pirated versions or anything. Anyways, The upgrade went smoothly, but upon system reboot. I discovered that my USB mouse didn't work, and neihter did my printer, or any USB devices for that matter. I tried reinstalling my USB drivers that came with my mobo, but it didn't fix a thing. If anyone knows what the problem is, I would greatly appreciate some assistance.

I think there is a hotfix for USB, have you tried hitting windows update? Have you tried unplug and repluging the usb mouse back in? I have this problem sometimes just rebooting the computer, no mouse.

Thanks for the help, but neither one of those things worked. I ended up fixing it by uninstalling the USB Roots and then restarting. It found the hardware and drivers and started working!!
