Nintendo applies for voice to text software patent

Nintendo of America filed for a patent to cover voice to text chat conversion. Patent application 20060025214 was filed in July 29, 2004 with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), but has only appeared on the agency's website recently. Nintendo believes that voice to text conversion could enhance online games by altering color and font size of text depending on the tone and amplitude of the speaker's voice. Read more

Microsoft to introduce new font in Vista, Office 12 GUI

Jensen Harris, lead program manager in Microsoft's Office user experience team, announced in his blog, that the company will replace the good old Tahoma fonts in Windows Vista and Office 12 with an updated font named Segoe UI. I know we can change user icons, but can we customize the font each
name is written in. I don't want all names, one font. I want several
different fonts.

It's an obvious item to customize and I'm surprised MS hasn't figured
it out after all these years.
