I bought a DVI to HDMI cable so that i could connect my xbox 360 to my lcd pc monitor the problem is yes i get a picture but there is no sound what so ever...this is going to be really annoying is there something i need to do or does this mean i have to purchase the xbox exclusive cable..which by the way is a shed loads more to buy than the cable ive allready connected it with...
any help please :D

Because, a DVI cable does not (normally) nativly carry sound due to bandwith constraints (going the other way is possible; NVIDIA/ATI GPU's go this route).

You only options are to use component for sound to your sound system, or a Digitial Optical connection (If you don't have an elite, your console came with a converter) to your sound system. (A few moniters will pass through digital optical, but its hardly standard for moniters yet...).
