i875's ICH5 ATA controller bus

Most i875 M/B manufacturers add a separate Serial ATA controller like Promise, Silicon Image- does this share bandwidth with the 133mbps PCI bus or is this placed to share bandwidth with the dedicated 266mbps Serial ATA bus of ICH5 ?

I'm presently making a PC for non-linear video editing use and need maximum bandwidth for streaming to HD

There is no other place BUT the PCI bus to put those added in controllers! The faster dedicated 266MB/s bus (NOT mbps, Bytes not bits) ends with the ICH5R on-die SATA RAID controller.
