Well according to Biostar's website it can support upto an Athlon XP 2100+. My guess is that the board cannot support the throughbred core Athlon. The 2600+ is a throughbred B core Athlon. Also the board has no AGP for graphics cards and will only run SDRAM. This memory since it is not DDR memory would REALLY slow down the Athlon. So I might consider getting another board. Right now your best bet would be to get an N-Force 2 Ultra 400 board. I would recommend either Asus or MSI. I have an Asus A7N8X Deluxe with no problems.
