IE takes ages to load a new window??

hi,

when i click on internet explorer, it takes 30 secs to load a window.
(shortcuts, and quick launch) y is that? how can i get it back to normal?

i dont think i have any spyware or adware. when i put in 'msconfig', i dont
have any new processes. and i only have about 24-25 processes in the task
manager bit.
