I am building a new system, and I'm going with WIN98SE until Windows Whistler comes out, since the Upgrade version is cheaper I was wanting to get that, but I was wanting to know if it's possible to do a "clean" install from a Upgrade CD or would I have to have 95 Installed first? Because I really dont' want to do that, b/c it's truly not a "clean" install that way, anyhow, thanks for responses.

Previous Windows versions allowed you to just provide proof of ownership of a previous version (by inserting the CD) and the upgrade version will install as a full version if you want it to.

Thanks, that will save me some money there, cause I wasn't for sure if for a clean install I needed the "complete" CD or just the "upgrade." Thanks.
