reserved system space

i just did a fresh reinstall of XP (with slipsteam of SP2). i use diskeeper to defrag my hard drive. i notice that half of my used space (which is about 10% of my HD) is "reserved system space". the last time i reformatted got this "reserved system space" too, but i must of changed some setting in XP or something because later it disappeared. i would like the "reserved system space" to disappear again, does anyone know what setting(s) you have to change in xp for this to happen?

i know its not the paging file because diskeeper shows that differently

Actually, I think attempting to remove the reserved system space is not such a good idea, and I'm not sure that it's even possible to do so with NTFS. Manipulate the amount of space reserved, yes ... but remove it? I don't think that can be done without switching to another file system. Check on the section on this page under <A HREF="http://www.windows-help.net/WindowsXP/ntfs-pf.htm" target="_new">Disabling unnecessary NTFS behaviors</A>. im sure before i reformatted with SP2 there were no "reserved system" stuff showing in diskeeper. from what i remember it used to disappear a few days after reformatting.

note: i normally turn off hibernating, system restore etc.
