I assembled my first Intel system. I was kinda worried about putting on the HSF on that shiny new MSI 875P mobo.

FInally, i managed to seat the HSF right and tight. THe processor is a P4 2.4GHz B (533FSB). After installing the RAM and the graphics card, i turned on the system to check if the mobo, RAM and the Graphics card were working fine.

In the BIOS, i found that the CPU fan was running at a meager speed of around 2500rpm and the CPU temp was about 60C. Is this normal for that CPU? I am worried about the CPU Fan speed. Did i do it right or screw it up??

Oh, btw, did anyone mention that the NorthBridge cooling fan has a cool twinkling LED lighting??

heya TheMask;

My p4 2.4Ghz~533 runs at about 125-F overclocked to 150fsb. i dont know why yours is running so hot im guessing you didnt get the heatsink mated properly, did you use the factory thermal pad, or remove it and use ArticSilver or what, either way it should be running at 112-F without being overclocked.

I hope this Helps.
