The Sims 2 Cheats don't work

Ever since I had a virus on my computer and had to reinstall the last expansion pack, the cheats don't work anymore at all! I can't even open the cheat window! I do everything the way I did before and how it's described on the cheat pages, but it just won't open anymore. I'm really spoiled with the cheats and it drives me crazy, that I can't use them anymore! Anybody knows what I could do? Also,... I had downloaded furniture that you could buy for 10 simoleons and after 1 day you could sell it for 1,400 simoleons. After the reinstall my downloads were gone and I can't find the download site anymore. Anybody knows where I can download those furniture again?
