Hey guys,

Going to build my first system and I don't want to screw up! Which MB has the best reputation for reliability and stability with an AMD 2500+ Barton? I'm not really interested in over clocking at this time, I'm more interested in the most reliable MB.

Thanks for the help,
Gino

I think everyone will say the same thing: A board with the Nforce2 chipset, from a decent manufacturer, so:
Asus A7N8X Deluxe;
Epox 8RDA+/8RDA3+;

MSI & Abit also have some Nforce 2 boards, but I can't remember the model nos.

Personnally, I would recommend the Epox 8RDA+, as I have one myself, and it's running 100% stable, despite being highly overclocked, and I've built a system for a friend around it too, with amazingly few problems (Having put together a few PCs over the years, I know there's ALWAYS a problem somewhere.. :smile: not usually anything too bad though..).

I'm sure plenty of other ppl will give their opinions....

Definately the Epox 8RDA3+ but since your cpu isnt a 200fsb, I would just opt for the Epox 8RDA+....I have this mobo and it is super stable even when overclocked to 200fsb!....
I also suggest 2 sticks of kingston hyperx pc2700

if your going to overclock in the future I would go with the 8rda3+ or the abit NF7-S they are both really stable boards, even when they are overclocked or not. I would get pc3200 ram that way if you decide to OC in the future you won't have to buy new ram. It's always easier/cheaper to underclock rather than have to buy new ram chips.

Remember, there are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

I might sound different, but I got an Asus A7N8X Deluxe board with no problems. Here is my setup:
