I have Windows 7 (RTM Build) 7600 (I have an MSDN account)... The game crashes for me every time i try to start a new game or load a game... All other menus work fine... It starts loading then goes to a black window and errors out, and just says "Fallout 3 has stopped working"...
Other games such as Call of Duty: World at War work just fine, without issues....
ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED....
Do you think it has something to do with Windows 7 compatibility -or- possibly Games for Windows Live 3.0 (new release) -or- Fallout 3 v1.7 Update....???

Fallout 3 is a badly coded piece of trash. I STILL can't get past the "walk to daddy" sequence without a crash, even after two seperate OS's (XP32/Vista64), two different GPU's (NVIDIA 9800GX2/ATI 4890), and three seperate sound soluions (Onboard Realtek, Razer Barracuda AC-1, ASUS Xonar D2).
I think you should consider the fact that your'e running it on Win7 Build 7600, I've been playing it since June with no problems in Vista64, I've tried it on Win7 Build 7x00 beta and my sound kept on crashing and sometimes it just bugs out back to Windows.
Ahh i fixed the problem... i reformatted my computer again with Win7 x64... and installed the newest drivers and updated windows and the game worked perfectly with just windows installed... the program that was causing issues after further trouble shooting at ASUS's GamerOSD Utility that the newest version is for VISTA 64bit... it runs on Win7 64bit just fine and it works with certain games....
for some reason it was causing ONLY Fallout 3 to crash when trying to create a new game...
honestly if you have an install of windows that is more than a couple months old like Win7 RC1 or even another OS... it could be almost any piece of software that could be causing the conflict i hate to say it but the fastest/easiest way to trouble shoot it might be to reinstall your OS, install latest drivers, update windows install v1.0 of Fallout 3 and play it and see if it work... if it does update to v1.7 and install your DLC and test it out then start installing 1 Application at a time and testing your game out after each install... it does sound like a hassle but it will be worth it in the end... It was for me...
Because that one app caused problems with only Fallout 3... Call of Duty World at War worked fine however so it possibly could be a similar or anyother app that just is having an issue working with Fallout 3 for whatever reason...
If you are getting this issue and you used to play Fallout 3 on the same computer you also might wanna try performing a thorough scan disk on each drive in your system in case there are inconsistencies or corrupt files with windows/applications/games you run...
