Cant install battlefield 1942

for some reason, whenever i try to install battlefield 1942, it doesnt autoplay after puttin it in the disc drawer. then when i try to access the game through 'my computer', clicking the icon, 'my computer' stops responding completely and freezes. i dont know what type of problem this is, i hope i posted it in the right forum.

(p.s i dont think its a problem to do with the specs i got cos i can run other games fine)
