Gow2?
something is wrong (well obviously, i mean in the code). i would try to reinstall. but you shouldn't expect amazing graphics from a 8600gt. i have 8600m gt in my macbook pro (im guessing its similar), and in cod 5 at 1440x900 on low settings i get like 40fps, sometimes 50, but when intense 30. so gow shouln't be like that, especially on those settings..

cheak on google on how to copy your multi-sigle player progress (if there is any considering ur gaming dilemma) then save it to desktop and reinstall then move it back when reinstalled.

Hope it works soon.
the game looks awesome.

i have already reinstalled the game, same problem, all games are sluggish, the M cards are about 30-40% slower on the 8 and 9 series cards, mainly due to underclock, it seems hardware related, but none of the hardware is faulty

Run 3D mark and check CPU and GPU scores and compare with similar system. That might help you to narrow down issue to CPU or GPU in one of the scores is a lot lower then expected. Check CPU and GPU temperatures to see if it is not overheating and throttling down speed.

You say You gave Your old system to bro. So was it running well when you owned it?
When did the performance issues started?

You know if you installed Windows Vista it would've been running fine. I had a 8500GT overclocked almost 80% on all clocks couldn't run gow at all in xp, even at the menu. Installed Vista it jumped up to 50fps at 1048x768 low settings. Just to see if it were a fluke, chucked in a 8600gt and installed Windows 7 7068 RC1 and frames jumped to 80, with some overclock, I can max everything except the DX10/AA setting, Physics and Post Processing, running smoothly at 28-48fps at 1440x900.

if you run gears of war all on low and lowest resolution it should be alright on your graphics card as I have a 8600gt on one of my computers and it runs perfectly so it should run fine on your computer
