Hi guys, I'm going to buy a new PC, and I would like to run Crysis with every setting to High at 1280 x 1024, no AA and no AF. I currently have a Core 2 Quad Q8400 3 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT 1.7 GB (although I seriously think that it must be a mistake, it's probably just 512 MB), and an ASUS P5QC. What components do you think I should upgrade (I don't want anything from AMD nor ATI, just NVIDIA and Intel).

PS: Do you know a website where I can buy the components online and that can also send them to Argentina (we don't even have the NVIDIA 200 series here yet, and the 9800 GT costs 300 dollars, which is a scam)

Your CPU is powerful enough. Regarding your GPU though, what display are you using. The choice of CPU depends on your display resolution. For instance, a GTX 260 should provide Crysis-like power for 1440 x 900.

That mod sucks, it makes shadows so ugly that the only thing that remains to do is crying. Much better to play medium vanilla then high/very high Cubans.

Much better to do some research on the forums on tweaks to use to make the game more playable. One is for example using "cheap" very high variables. You can find them in tweakguides.com

These only will net you at least 10 fps.

As for the other question a GTX 260 is more than enough for high (gamer) and 1280x1024.

I would recommend a GTS 250 or less, which is a re-branded 9800GTX+ which is a re-branded 9800GTX which is a re-branded 9800GT which is a re-branded 8800GT.

Crysis graphics mods = unrealistically high contrast environment. They try to make the game more visually appealing, but in turn make it into a cartoon.
