Another one of these. This system is for my sister-in-law. Main uses will be internet, power-point, music, and some burning. I want to build her one that will last her for awhile(thru senior year of highschool and some college)
Need help on selecting motherboard. No overclocking will be done at this time. Selections are:
Aopen ak79g-vn or ak79g-1394 (for firewire)
MSI K7N2G-L
EPOX 8RGA+
Soltek SL-75MRN-L

Cpu will be something from 2100 up to 2600(333) depending on total price
Also getting a dvd/cdrw drive choices:
Samsung , LG, Liteon.
Also is the 8Mb buffer worth the extra money over the 2MB ones.
Will be getting the corsair twin memory. 512 total mem.

Everything will be bought from newegg.com. Amyone have problems with them?

Thanks for you help.

Newegg.com seems to be running specials on the Athlon XP 2500+ Barton all the time. Many here feel that it's an OC'ers dream.

But Officer, I wasn't speeding - I was qualifying ...

CDRW 8MBvs2MB: not really worth it unless you burn ALOT of disks. Supposedly 8mb will make fewer coasters...but my old 2mb burners rarely make one now...get good media...
