heya imnomine;

What XP processor do you have?
That information would be helpfull.
Although a Nvidia 400 Ultra chipset would be preferable reguardless of what XP processor you have.

First thing: what features do you want to have on the motherboard? Answer this before you decide. Don't pay extra $$ for stuff you dont need or will never use. Most all of the NF2 mobos are quality. Don't worry about that...decide what you need then look at the mobos that have those features. Look at cost and user experience, then decide for yourself. People will only tell you to get what they have. Get whay YOU need.

MSI K7N2 Delta-ILSR, if you want a full featured nForce2 mobo

Epox 8RDA+, if you want a basic nForce2 mobo with nForce APU

The ASUS and the MSI nForce2 boards are both at the top of the hill with features and performance. I love my A7N8X, but I concede that MSI also has a good board. There are, of course, others like Gigabyte, Epox, etc. Anything with an nForce2 chipset (that supports dual channel DDR - nVidia has come out with a "discount" single channel RAM option: The nForce2 [non-ultra] 400), will run any Athlon/Duron all the way up to the 3200+. You said you're after the best though, so do some more reading and then maybe flip a coin if you have to between the A7N8X and the K7N2 boards.
