How do I reset my user name and password with McAfee? They didn't
warn me that I needed to keep track of my user name and password for
future upgrades.

Your user name is the e-mail address you used.
McAfee can send your password to that address.

If you don't remember what e-mail address you used, you will need to contact McAfee Customer Service.
