Here is my situation:
Every time I switch my computer on (power supply switch), the system will automatically power. Fans will spin, etc.

However, nothing will show up on the monitor. I have to reset, press soft-on a couple of times, then it will goto BIOS screen, save&exit. There is no way to shut off the fans etc after I shutdown in WinXP. I have to turn off the power supply. Anybody know why?

Has this system ever worked before? Normally this indicates a bad CPU, but it could also indicate something assembled wrong.

Check the hardware monitor under "system" in the control panel, and look for any conflicts. Remove any devices with a yellow or red exclamation mark next to them and let windows reinstall them. If you don't find any problems, I would move the soundcard to a different pci slot or try the onboard sound.
