Aloha everyone!
sorry for this post but i'm not a computer master knowledge pro, but i'm upgrading my processor which is a P3 slot 1 600EB to a P3 1GHz socket 370. my MB (Tyan Trinity S1854)supports both CPU's and i just want a simple cheap upgrade. any how my question is..... when uninstalling the slot 1 and replacing the socket 370 is it just that? that simple? switching the CPUs? would i have to switch anything else? go into the BIOS? flash it? uninstall install softwares?

any help is appreciated. thank you very much
Scotty

Thanks and mahalo,
Scotty

1. check your bios version if it can support up to 1 Ghz
2. check if you need to adjust some jumpers for changing cpu frequency (can refer to your motherboard manual)
3. check if your board is a slot1 socket then you need to get a slot1-to-s370 converter.

i can onli think of this few points...hope this help

I explained why in your CPU's forum post, but just for anyone who hasn't read it, I'd recommend a Celeron 1100 Tualatin overclocked at 1466MHz on an Upgradeware Slot-T adapter.
