I'm starting to get confused. Do you have a CPU chip and plan to get a motherboard or what?

I already have the Board.
At the moment i only have a 1300Mhz T-Bird in it.
I did'nt think it was capable of much higher.
So i was going to by a new chip and Mobo.
But if my old Board can take a 2600 Athlon XP'then there is no need.

So how do i know the Model?

Thanx

If I'm not mistaken it is written on the packaging. Check out a retailer.

Also I believe, the processors are classified that way.
Eg. Duron 950 might be model 3
Barton core model 10
Thoroughbred-A & B - Model 8
Palamino - Model 6

Yes those numbers are correct.
I bought an unlocked XP2100+ and I'm running it at 2Ghz (13X154) very stable and fast with the A7M266. There is a new device that allows you to unlock the multiplier on this motherboard that THG did a review on that may take it higher. I had to stay with the 13x multiplier to get this.
I love this motherboard!

A7M266 only supports Palamino Athlon XPs and they're impossible to find these days, unless u buy from ebay or a friend or something
