boot up problem

I am in the process of installing a second hard drive, which at some point
will

become my primary drive. Today during the boot up process I got a screen
that

said (more or less):

Novell PCI 10/100MB Fast Internet Adapter

Analyzing network media type, this will take several seconds.

RPL-ROM-FFC: (IN THIS PLACE NUMBERS COUNT OFF TO ABOUT 180

AND THEN BOOT UP CONTINUES)

I've never got this message before. I'm assuming that because I was
screwing

around with settings I messed something up.

Please help.

Please provide some info on the new HD and how you have in installed. i.e.,
IDE, ATA, SATA, seperate IDE controller, master, slave, etc. and what
settings were you "screwing with?" XP is very good at simply recognizing
new hardware without making any changes to settings (for the most part).
Your solution may be as easy as removing the new drive from Device Manager,
rebooting and allowing XP to 'find the new hardware.'

Additionally if you've been playing about in the BIOS setup utility did you
make any changes to attempt to boot to a network? As this error is pre-boot
(at least that's the impression I got) that could be a cause.
