Hey guys first off heres specs

Vista x64

AMD phenom 9950
Kingston 2gb ram x2
Geforce 9400gt
500w PSU
MSI K9N2GM-FIH

All drivers from the internet
memtest86 passed all tests
windows DEP and UAC disabled
GPU idle temps (via nvidia monitor) 60-65c
GPU Load temps 70-80

Nvidia claims their passive cooled cards are good to 90c under load.

I cant figure out what is causing all my games to crash
games ive tested :

World of warcraft - Freezing for a split second and recovering, sometimes artifacting
Team Fortress 2 - Freezing in game with looped sound
Counterstrike Source Freezing in game with looped sound
Battlefield 2142 Freezing in game with looped sound

Ive tried reformating 3x once with win7 then xp x64 now back to vista as xp did not solve any of my problems.

Any insight appreciated.

What power supply do you have - is it a generic one or a branded one. Maybe the issue here.
Have you updated the msi board to the latest bios.
download a demo of burn it pro
Im still on the video card here but unless you replace it with someone elses you wont find out.
update the soundcard drivers
hard disks can cause stuttering as theyre reading textures and audio
replace the Sata lead
reset the bios to factory defaults

could be anyone of those but reinstalling windows obviously doesnt work.
