If you are building a system that is going to need a 1kW unit you can afford to spend a bit more and get a good unit. The HW Secrets review cited one critical flaw, poor efficiency and poor ventilation which will lead to the unit getting quite hot and sucking quite a bit more power out of the wall than necessary. I doubt that thing will make it too much past its 1 year warranty period with the temps its going to get to under full load.
In the end, still too good to be true.
