I am building a new pc. I know I am going to get a pentium 4 2.8. I want to try and overclock it to 3.0 or better. in the mobo tsunami it says that the MSI is the fastest in preformace. but I have always like Asus boards over the years. what one would you recomend.

I'd go with the P4P800

I've got the Neo2 845PE, and I have to say its prety good. The core cell chip is bounes as you can overclock within windows rather then mess around in the bios.
The only draw back is that it only has S-ATA raid and not IDE raid

Why is it a drawback? No SATA drives?

Well your going to need SATA hard drives if you want to take advantage of the onboard RIAD array. I've got all the drivers but my hard disk (2x 60gig ata100) are IDE interface no serial ATA. The serial HD's where to much £££.
So i'm kinda of stuffed if I want a riad array, with these hard drives. Its a shame becuse i've got all the power and interface leads still in the box.

4 x Maxtor 120GB drives aren;t too bad.

They're individual price is pretty much in line with 120GB ATA100/ATA133 drives. Four of em hits the budget though.

Because everybody except THG says the P4P800 is faster, and the Abit IS7 faster still?
