I don't know what to think of this but I feel a little uneasy about it. What do you think?

ah yes. the calls for "Data Retention".

has anyone any idea How much storage capacity/CPU power it would take to store all of the data passed over the internet in one day? one hour? Totaly unfeasable.
(you'd need several computers roughly the power of a Cray Xmp 5000, running continously, and about a Terabyte of hard drive space)

Personally this actualy makes me Laugh / be very disturbed that anyone would ponder this, and then think that it would be do-able.

lets face it, the only people who want this are the lefties.. who believe that personal "free"dom should have a price. Hello ? Power Tripp?

whatever provides positive bouyancy for your aquious transport vehicle

Well I think it is a bad thing... there will be no more privacy and even people who are only making fun and jokes can become labeled as 'possible terrorists'.

ummm at the risk of being erroneously labeled again ( someone called me a Republican lol.. NOT !) I should point out that the above descibes a "Rightie, not a "Leftie" politically speaking at least in the USA. Amnisty international and the ACLU both huge proponents of personal freedoms, free speech, etc are often critisized and characterized as "leftie" organizations by "righties" for their liberal stance on constitutional issues.

Do-able? whether it is do-able or not if the FBI get the license they will do it. How do you know that they are not doing it on some scale right now? You don't. Just start talking crazy about terrorism, or doing harm to person, place, or thing and I bet you will get a visit.

The thing is anyone here could feel that you are a threat and drop a dime on you, then I bet the FBI would be all over THGC. They aren't fools. They have moles everywhere, and know where, when, how, and who to watch/listen to. They only need government license/authority to do it, but like I said who know if they aren't doing it already.

How do you think they busted up the "Candyman" child porno sting over the internet? Something to consider if you think big brother is off somewhere sleeping.

Well, since we're on the topic of tracking, here's a question. I'm sure most adults know that a lot of teens look at porn *cough* wusy *cough*:) and that u aren't supposed to unless ur 18 or older. So what's the penalty for that, and do they ever charge anyone on it? Seems there are too many kids doing it.

There are no restriction barring porn on the internet per say the ACLU.

Quote :

The government's first attempt to restrict children's access to online smut was the 1996 Communications Decency Act (CDA), which made it illegal to put adult content on the Internet where kids could find it. All nine justices of the Supreme Court declared the act unconstitutional in the case Reno v. ACLU. The court made it clear that the government may not prohibit inappropriate material for minors unless it can do so in a way that it does not infringe on the rights of adults to access such material.

If the law allows porn on the internet then the law cannot stop anyone from viewing it, except in the case of child porn. The internet is becoming a big problem for government everyday. So, every initiative to encourage prevention of porn on the internet and discouraging it's viewing is the current strategic plan. However, distribution of porn over the internet is a punishable crime. H.R.3783

Heh.

Anyway, the idea here is "when someone is kicking you in the head, don't look to see what color of shoe he/she is wearing".

That's the FBI's philosophy. You have to talk to the NSA on how to get the job done, here...

That's actually impressive. I've heard after so many peeps, the server kicks you off, deletes you username, and bans your ip.
