Does the 4C brand of iced tea have caffiene? I've been drinking it all day long and am wondering if it does, cause otherwise there won't be much of a prospect of me going to sleep before finals:(

My frog asked me for a straw...dunno what happened he's all over the place

If it specifically doesn't say "decaffinated", then it's got the good stuff in it.

Different brands have different amounts.

Reply to ejsmith2

how does it usually compare to a cup of coffee?

tea and coffee don't actually have the some kind of caffeine in them, one has a chemical called Thio-bromine or something in it, which is either broken down to the same chemical later on in the body or has a similar stimulative effect (i forget which)

but iced tea is made the same as hot tea, thus contains similar amounts of caffeine assuming the Ice doesn't dilute it too much

As one who is allergic to the stuff(caffine) I can attest to the fact.
If you want to stay awake with icetea use Brisk, they add caffine to that stuff.
Of course, in the States they add caffine to everything.
eg. I can drink Mountain Dew in Canada because it is illeagal to "spike" fruit products, not so in the US.
In Vancouver I have to keep an eye on labels because things have a tendency to sneak across the border.

If you run down to Mickey D's place, their coffee has close to 100mg per cup. If you load up your filter at home, you can pump upwards of 250mg per cup.

Tea is right around 50mg per cup. So, like coffee, if you use one of those 'family' bags for your 'cup', you'll get upwards of 150mg. Mountain Dew has nearly 50, and pepsi/coke hover between 32-35. At least, that's what some college kid was able to extract and weigh.

hehe, yup. Just don't start drinking ice tea all day long and DO GET SOME SLEEP.

That's what all my teachers advice.

I think you mean you can't drink it in Canada. At least not in the same form it is here in the US.

I wouldn't be able to live without caffeine in Mt Dew, I'd probably have to kill myself.

The Dew in Canada is caffeine free.

I was hyper last night. hehe. I just went out at 9:30 and ran 2 miles, and came home, studied for 40 mins and just fell asleep.

I have been drinking ice tea my whole life and it has never kept me awake or given me the shakes. I can drink 4 or 5 44oz cups of the stuff during the day and one more right before bed and I seem to sleep just fine. Maybe I’m immune to the stuff? But then again I only sleep around 5-6 hours a night tops. Maybe if I stopped drinking caffeine I would sleep 8 hours and actually feel good in the morning.

The one thing I have noticed it that I will sometimes get headaches if I don’t drink any caffeine for a day or so. Once I noticed that I decided to only drink tea and soda in moderation trying to cut out soda completely. I’m still working on that last part.

Thx & Cya

I got 7 hours last night, and was barely able to think. Tonight I'm aiming at 9, so I'll be all fresh for math tomorrow.

yeah thats a classic sign of caffeine addiction between 24 and 48 hours without it will result in a headache and tireness :)

i'm reducing sugar in my drinks now, but caffeine remains (Diet Snapples!)

Hehehe, just wait till finals are over. I drink 10 cokes before I go to bed, but find that if ur very calm, caffeine has no effects, and will make u sleepier.

never had superjolt, but as a backup we have cordial... never found anything quite like it overthere.

basically its fruit flavourings and sugar, u dilute it 10:1 with water for a refreshing but sweet drink... or... consume it undiluted.
hehehe

cordial is good stuff. once put it in a deep freeze refridgerator at -18 and it still didnt freeze

lol. U should taste some of the fruit juices my grandfather has at his farm- they're like ultra concentrated somehow, so a drop is loaded w/ sugar. hehe. Carbonated its awesome....unstill after 3 sips u start having fits. hehe.

Hehe, i was so not fresh for math. Slept 6 hours, but I got through the test on adrenaline. I actually did the test twice and then checked- everything worked out perfectly; I think I may have 100. That would be sickly insane (and in which case this guy owes me $20 cause no one has done it in a looooong time). Is there an expression knock on wood in english? (We say that in Bulgarian to mean not to jinx it).

It is now proper to say "Knock on plastic."

Inside every older person is a younger person wondering what the hell happened!

Reply to OldBear

Actually, some areas of the counrty say "Knock on sheetrock".

So, for all you addicts out there, what's your minimum intake for caffeine?

Mine's around 150mg. Anything less than that, and it's headache time.

Reply to ejsmith2

I'm sure I am right up there with you :)

Well if tea conatins 50mg caffeine, then I'm probably between the 150-200mg a day.

That is because of the hole in the ozon layer... it makes time go weird (well not time, more the people...).
