Cod4 multiplayer modes

How do you play multiplayer if you don't have xbox live, and if you want to have your friend on your team fighting together? Just like in COD 3 how you and the other people playing on your console are fighting together. I can't get my COD 4 to let me and my brother play that way

Are you sure there is no co-op mode ? friends have xboxes and play split screen with each other with no internet connection

go to multiplayer then local and that should do it
