Hi,

I've just had to reinstall XP & change my HDD. I'm on broadband but
when I download stuff from Windows Updates it downloads at dial-up
rates. Are therre any settings I can change?

Thanks in advance,

I have the same problem this past week. Wuzzup?
I clicked on the taskbar and downloaded from there and the speed picked up.
Something appears to be wrong with the server at the Windows Update Website (I
got a 2X dial-up rate, or about 12.4kb/sec; which makes no sense...the website
must not be sensing the modem speed correctly), so using the taskbar to update
could work instead at a more appropriate speed. Optional updates are not covered
using this work-around though.

I'm no M$ expert...still waiting for an explanation.
