Hi,

I have an webserver running at home, who listens at port 8000 and has
IP-adres 192.x.x.x. I have a router with external IP 81.x.x.x
Inside my LAN I can view my website, by http://192.x.x.x:8000) on my
webserver but by the internet it isn't possible. On my router I have
portforward ports 80 and 8000 to ip 192.x.x.x, port 8000.
If I try to connect to my website, by http://81.x.x.x:8000 I get the message
"page cannot be found".

Does anyone have an idea what is going wrong here?

Regards Ray

Hi,
Why are you forwarding ports 80 and 8000 on your router to 8000?
If you want to use port 8000 from the outside world (http://81.x.x.x:8000)
to access your web server on internal port 8000, there is no need to forward
port 80.

I am using a similar set-up without mapping port 80.
What router do you use?
