How do I fix this?

So i pretty much be playing a game on my laptop and when i go to task manager>processes the game always uses like 470k+ memory X_X how do i make it less? better CPU? graphic card? o_O

If you're running Vista upgrade to SP1 and games may use less memory (it's allocated differently, per process each gets it's own map of video memory).

Stupid idea, but they want to have it so one can run multiple 3D apps at once, on different (and/or the same) displays, on single / multiple GPU setups.

Due to that idea certain game processes now use [memory] + [map of/to video memory] per process doing 3D.

Windows XP SP2/SP3 with DirectX 9.0c actually runs most games faster, looking just as good, and the processes 'usually' use less memory under XP than they do under Vista.

Windows 7 with a WDDM 1.1 compliant video driver and DirectX 11 are meant to fix all of this though.
