I'm confused...Do all Nforce2 Ultra400 motherboards have Dolby Digital 5.1?? Or do the manufacturers decide if they want their mobos to have it???

- Look for nForce2 motherboards with the MCP-T southbridge as opposed to the standard MCP. MCP-T delivers 5.1 stereo surround sound and boasts a certified Dolby Digital stamp of approval.

- Note that the Chaintech 7NJS motherboard has MCP-T but the nVidia APU is disabled. :(

The case is, NV reference MCP-T southbridge has the nForce APU, but it leaves for the manufacturers to decide whether they want to use the APU or not and all but Chaintech decide to use them. To get things even confusing, NV comes out a SoundStorm certification and only some mobo w/MCP-T had been certified but even one doesn't get certified, the sound quality, system resource usage, etc are still the same. So the paper certification can be ignored.

If I agree with you... will you shut up?
