Hi, I have a 2009 xbox 360 elite that i bought in Hong Kong, and I would like to know if it can play games using NTSC system? The game that came with it was NTCSJ.

More about : ntcsj

For the 360, copy protection will probably prevent the game from running.

NTSC/PAL are standards for screen displays (the main difference being 60Hz NTSC, 50Hz PAL). NTSC consoles can be used in any NTSC region, and PAL consoles can be used in any PAL region.

The J referes to the Japaneze release of the game, in which case a non-Japenese console will probably lock out the game. [U - US, E - Europe, B - Brazil, R - Russia are the other most common region codes]

There is 60 Hz PAL as well (called PAL-60 oddly enough ;) ), but the TV must support it. Most new-ish TVs should do.

Thank you. So this means that I can play any ntsc games that I buy in the US? And my console will not lock it out? (I was afraid of buying anything not NTSCJ because it might not play)

Depends on the home region of the console; its you're console is NTSC-J, then NTSC-U games won't work because of region lock out. Might be a way to bypass this though...
