Hello,
I am a newbie when it comes to networking. I am going to be networking four computers in my house for file sharing. I decided to go with ethernet. I am also going to be getting internet from some company called Phase4 wireless, because Dsl is not yet available. Do I need a switch or a router? I would like to have the network set up before I get the service, Will I need to have both a switch and a router.
The wireless service is putting a antenna in the neighborhood for the new subscribers. I then plug a little anntena into my usb port. I thought I would need a switch for the computers to be networked and a router to share the internet. please help

I you're planning on sharing an internet connection similtaneously, then go for a router.

The switch will be fine for PC to PC, but with internet stuff you're better off with a router.

Bear in mind that a USB router will use PC resources.

i would make sure the wireless device they are giving you will work with a router, even if the router you get supports usb, you need to make sure it will support the authentication protocal, if any.

how do you shoot the devil in the back? what happens if you miss? -verbal
