I'm trying to setup the cheepoman bios on my k7s5a to see if i can post my xp1800+ at 166. However, when I try to flash my current bios I get an error file not found message, then all dos text turns red...anyone else had this problem, or what can i do to fix it..
What OP/SYS is running on the M/B you are flashing? There are special procedures for flashing with the NTFS file system, FAT 32 problems may be listed below.
Most of the time when that happens, you're not doing something right in the flashing procedure, it could be as simple as omitting a space, or a dot, in the command prompt, or not properly typing in the name of the .BIN file you're flashing with, you can enter the DIR command to see exactly how the name of the files are listed on the flashing disk, or failing to disable you BIOS flashing protection in the CMOS setup. Flashing your BIOS is serious business, if your flash commences normally and something goes wrong during the flash do not turn off your computer. Go back and reread your flashing instructions very carefully, and follow the instructions to the letter.

just to add to that...the most common error is forgetting the file extention...example if your bios file is named Bios.bin...many people just type Bios...instead of what should be typed Bios.bin
The cheepoman bios is a zip file, you did unzip it did'nt you?If you got the correct flash utility,it should look like this A:\>aminf335 chb1129f.rom This would be the non-pro version of the k7s5a with fastwrites enabled.
