I've notice that the best systems out there still chug along in WoW lately. I think it's mostly due to Blizzard pushing content out that is either a) incomplete, or b) bugged to hell and back. Look at Dalaran, it's been a mess since it Wrath came out.

I used to have an 8800 GTX. And I found the problem wasn't the video card but rather... my hard drive.

Can you hear your hard drive clicking away when you get low FPS?

Try defragging, or put WoW on a seperate HD apart from your OS. Or better yet make a basic RAID to speed up your access times. I found that the hard drive was the problem when I decided to do a batch of DVD rips while playing WoW, only to find the game slowed down to unbearable fps. When the ripping finished, fps went back to normal.

I've since moved WoW to a seperate drive from both my ripped files and OS, and haven't had an issue since. Sadly, my HDs are the current bottleneck in fps with WoW.

As Zirb points out, HDDs are the issue with MMORPGs. Reason being is there is such a large amount of data needed to load the tons of textures everyone has for their avatars, there's no way to pre load all of that info. Its the seek/read time that's killing performance. The only thing you're really going to be able to do is throw money at this or accept it. You already have a raid 0 setup, but the HDDs are a little older. You can get newer 500gb/platter drives or an SSD. Kind of ironic putting SSDs in a Redundant Array of INEXPENSIVE Drives.

You're performance is actually pretty good for having platter drives.
