We have XP media center 2005 set up so myself and my husband are
administators and the 2 kids are limited access. A couple of questions. Is
there a way I can have Firefox as my default browser and him Internet
Explorer. Right now when I switch to my account after he's been on IE I get
a message saying Firefox is not the default browswer and I again set it as
the default even though I just did that last time. Also can we have the
keyboard shortcut keys open different mail and homepage, etc.

Last thing, I installed Sims 2 one of the administrator logins but it will
only run from the admin. logins. If one of the kids click on it from their
login they get "unknown error" - that's the complete error. I uninstalled it
and re-installed it from one of the kids login but the same thing happens.
Any reason comes to mind why only the admins. can play Sims 2 while the
limited accounts get such a 'descriptive' unknown error.

Sims 2 is probably not designed for Windows XP. Programs that meet this requirement are mutli user aware, and know how the NTFS file system can affect how they run.

You might want to try this utility for your default browser
issue:

http://windowsxp.mvps.org/defaultbrowser.htm

There's a patch available for Sims 2 that's supposed to correct
that problem. Here's the download site:

http://thesims2.ea.com/update/

As for your keyboard question, I have no idea.
