Are there any good boards out there with the nForce 2 chipset and onbaord IDE RAID, versus the serial that seems to be popping up on all of the new boards.

I don't see the IDE slots on the MSI, there's only three. Maybe I'm looking at it wrong. The Gigabytes checked, though, thanks. Think this'll become a dying feature in the near future. If so, how well do the serial to ATA adapters work?

I got 2 serial to parallel converter (highpoint rockethead 100) and plugged them in my two WD 1200JB hard disk. connected the serial cables from my serial connectors on the mobo to the HD.
They work good, no complain at all. this RAID setup is my main HD on my computer and my mobo (the soltek) doesnt have any problem to recongnize the array and boot from it. Just have to install the driver with F6 during WinXP installation with the included diskette. Later, when SATA drive will have more performance/capacity and be cheaper, I will maybe have two SATA drive, but for now, I'm ok with what I have. And the highpoint rockethead are inexpensive too. At first, I bought only one, because the soltek has 2 serial and a third parallel connector for the RAID controller. Plugged the first HD in serial conn 1 with the converter and the second in the ATA with a standard 80 wire ATA cable. But I like the small serial cable so I bought a second converter and moved my second drive on the second serial connector and got rid of the 80 wires cable. now, my system looks cleaner inside.
