Anyone remember the Kane and Lynch fiasco @ Gamespot.com a while back?
What IS the correlation between big title ad revenue and gaming critcs?

Check out the difference between user and critic scores.
Only two critics seem to have the rocks to tell it like it is, and those two just earned a lot of credibility points in my book.

But that's just like, my opinion, man.

Cheers

In this case it looks like a lot of ballot stuffing on the part of the users rating the game. 1.5 is much more of a deviation from the range of normal scores than 89 is an overinflated score. Yes people are mad about this game but judge the game on it's merits and not what you wanted it to be but knew full well going in it wasn't going to be (i.e. dedicated server support). Everything I've read from people who actually played the game is that for what it is it is an excellent game.

You can't have it both ways and criticize reviewers for inflating scores but not calling out gamers for purposely giving undeserved bad ratings because they are upset at the developers and many haven't even played the game. This is similar to the DRM protest against Spore on Amazon. It doesn't do any rating system any good to pervert it either way.
