I should not have but I opened it .
I have 1 harddrive with 2 partitions and I opened the flash program ,
AWDFLASH823 .
Now Windows will not let me delete the 4 various awdflash files .
The message was , the file could not be deleted , it is being used by
another program , or may be being used by another program .
Windows did let me delete the Explorer type file of the awdflash file .
I want to get rid of the files without reinstalling Windows XP Home Editon .
.....and winter is cold in Auckland

Have you tried a System Restore point prior to the problem?

If the file was placed on the disk from DOS and you have NTFS then it is
likely a permission problem. I don't think it happens under FAT32. See the
attached link from Norton about a similar problem and solution (depends on
Home or Pro) with Drive Image files created under DOS.

Oh , and I tried to write the same file to a CD/RW and I cannot be delete it
from the , files waiting to be written to CD , folder .
I have removed restore points habitually .
I have left a message on Wim's Bios Forum and I've been searching Google and
am still looking for a solution . The exact message was what I wrote in one
of my posts above .
Thanks for your suggestions .
I think I've had this problem before and asked about it here but I am
Administrator and the only person who uses the computer .
I wonder if this problem is because I flashed my computer previously with
Award bios program in Windows . That is a completely isolated occassion from
what I have done with the AWDFLASH this time around .
