Can anyone tell me what is flash BIOS? Is it similiar with upgrading of BIOS? For e.g if I was instructed by my PC vendor to upgrade my BIOS version, let's say from Ver.5 to Ver.6 and all I have to do was to download the BIOS ver.6 to a floppy disk and ran it from there during booting up. Is this call Flashing of BIOS or upgrading of BIOS? And how do I do a proper Flashing of BIOS? I was told by a colleague that these 2 things are not the same. Please help me. Thank You.

There are two ways to upgrade BIOS, either flash your BIOS chip, or buy a pre-flahed chip. If we assume you're not replacing your BIOS chip, they would mean the same thing.
