Computer won't turn on

My dad was on his computer one day and turned it off then later he went to turn it on and nothing happened. So i bought a motherboard and power supply off of ebay and then installed everything with the new motherboard and power supply. It booted up and it was loading when i walked away for a second. I heard it turn off and i went to turn it back on but nothing. So again i went and bought a new motherboard and installed it but nothing happened. I rechecked all of the connections but nothing. I dont know what to do now.

Check to make sure you have power at the other end of the cord. Most power bars have overcurrent protection. Try plugging into a different place. I once had a power bar take out a mobo via a short.
