An example of my situation // when I'm on a web site with IE, and there are
other windows opening (probably ad pop-ups), or if I have to select on one of
these areas for further work on that site, I get surrounded with windows
inserts that states ...
--------"Action canceled"----
"Internet Explorer was unable to link to the web page you...." (then the
remainder of the message does not show.)
This renders the other sites useless, to open other sites required for
further work on that site.
---Thanks for any help ----

Hi,
These URLs are being blocked by a HOSTS file or a third-party
security/privacy program.

Insure that you can see hidden files and search for a HOSTS file (not
HOSTS.SAM or LMHOSTS.) You can disable the HOSTS fie by renaming it to (eg.)
HOSTS.OLD or opening the file with notepad, placing a # in front of entries
you wish to disable and saving the file.

More on the HOSTS file at:
The Hosts File (Gorilla Design Studio): http://www.accs-net.com/hosts/
Blocking Unwanted Parasites with a Hosts File:
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm

(BTW) Spybot S&D creates a HOSTS file when the "Block bad sites" (Immunize)
feature is used.

Hope this helps,
Don
