I have a Soyo KT333 Dragon MB which, of course, has four ide ports (slots?). Two of these are apparently intended to be used to create a RAID array, while the other two are normal. I have no interest in creating such a RAID array, but would like to use these two ports as normal ide ports (and thus avoid having to slave any drives). The manual states that this is possible, but does not say how. When I plug a drive into one of these two ports, the drive (whether it be a CD, DVD, HD, or other) is not recognized by the system. Any ideas or suggestions?

Check your BIOS, maybe under RAID settings.

Roses are <font color=red>red</font color=red>, violets are <font color=blue>blue</font color=blue>, post something stupid and I won't reply to you!

In the BIOS, just turn on the RAID controller, and then on bootup setup the RAID software without using a RAID array, setting boot order, and it will recognize from then on.
