Recently I had the Abit IC7-G and I have had nothing but problems. After eliminating all factors It boiled down to being the mobo after all. Thankfully the place I ordered it from will let me swap it out with another mobo.
Heres what I'm looking at :
I want something to support my 2.4c P4. It doesnt have to be "easy overclocking" because I dont intend on overclocking. Also, I dont want a motherboard where it will use only certain types of ram with certain settings. I just wanna be able to plug and go. Finally, it doesnt have to have onboard sound, I have a audigy 2 for that.
The Intel-made boards are pretty much plug and go with hardly any tweaking options. I guess you could try Asus as well. I've never had any problems with Abit though. Just becareful with whatever board you get, because these boards run the memory very aggressively so you might have to raise your memory's rated timings.
